History of the Port Colborne Inner Lighthouse

The Port Colborne Inner Lighthouse was built in 1903 to replace some older light structures out on the breakwall. Today, the lighthouse is still operational guiding ships into the Welland Canal. The light is paired up with the Port Colborne Outer Light.

Directions: From Route 3 in Port Colborne, take King Street south to the marina or Elm Street south to Marina Drive to the marina. From the marina, the lighthouse sits well out on the breakwall. A better view would be from a boat. I used a 1000mm telephoto lens to get this distant shot.
