History of the Old Presque Isle Lighthouse

This lighthouse served a mere 30 years of service before being decommissioned and replaced by the New Presque Isle Lighthouse about a mile up the road. The keeper's cottage is now a museum and is open to the public. The lighthouse tower is also open for climbing for a modest fee. Also on the grounds is the Old Front Range Lighthouse.

Directions: While heading south on US-23 out of Rogers City, take E 638 Highway east to Presque Isle. At the end of E 638 Highway, make a left onto East Grand Lake Road. Follow that north about .8 miles and you will see a sign on the right hand side leading to the lighthouse.
