This is the rear range light that was used to guide ships off of Lake Ontario and into the lower portion of the Niagara River. The lighthouse sits on the open grounds of 247 Ricardo Street. You can park in the lot and walk up to it, even though it is closed to the public.
Directions: From the QEW, take the Niagara Stone Road exit, and follow this north to the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. In the town, Niagara Stone Road will change names to Mississauga Road. Follow Mississauga Street to the end. Then make a right onto Queen Street. Follow Queen Street for two blocks, and make a left onto Gate Street. Follow Gate Street to the end which will be Front Street. Follow Front Street for about .6 miles. It will change names to Ricardo Street. You will see a marina on your left hand side. The lighthouse will be on the grounds of 247 Ricardo Street.
