History of the Muskegon South Pierhead Lighthouse

The Muskegon South Pierhead light stands 53 feet tall and marks the entrance to a channel that connects Lake Michigan with Muskegon Lake. Two other pierhead lights are also in the area as viewed here and here.

Directions: While heading north on US-31 towards Muskegon, exit at East Sherman Blvd. Follow this 5.6 miles west to Beach Street. Follow Beach Street north about 1.8 miles to a park and the lighthouses.
